[Tenuta del Barone di Montemurlo](https://www.oliodelbarone.com/en) — Tuscan extra virgin olive oil

# Italian olive oil, shipped to the US

We ship our extra virgin olive oil from the estate in Montemurlo, Tuscany, straight to your door in the United States. Here is what to expect: where the oil comes from, shipping, import duty, and how to store it once it arrives.

## From one grove, not a blend

A label that says “imported from Italy” or “packed in Italy” tells you where the oil was bottled, not where the olives grew. Ours come from a single grove on the hills of Montemurlo, between Prato and Pistoia: Frantoiano, Moraiolo and Leccino, picked by hand in October and November and milled the same day, 870 meters from the trees.

That is why we can print the harvest year on every bottle, and why the oil you get is the oil we make, not a blend bought on the market.

## Shipping and delivery

Every order ships from the estate by courier, with tracking. The cart shows the shipping cost and the estimated delivery dates for your address before you pay; the page on shipping to the United States has the full table.

Bottles travel in protective packaging. If anything arrives broken, send us a photo and we replace it.

## Import duty

Since August 2025 the United States no longer exempts small parcels: every shipment pays import duty, even a single bottle.

If your cart shows a line for US import duty, it is already taken care of: you pay it with your order and nothing is due at the door. If it does not, the courier collects the duty from you before delivery, together with a clearance fee.

## Storing the oil

Dark, cool, closed. Light, air and heat are what ruin olive oil: keep it in a cupboard, not next to the stove or in the sun. Once opened, finish it within a couple of months. No need for the refrigerator — cold makes the oil cloudy, and it clears again at room temperature with no harm done.

Tins keep the light out completely and suit a family that cooks with olive oil every day; the bottles are for the table.

## Restaurants and stores

If you run a restaurant or a specialty food store in the US and want to work with us, write and tell us who you are and roughly how much oil you need.
