[Tenuta del Barone di Montemurlo](https://www.oliodelbarone.com/en) — Tuscan extra virgin olive oil

# Visits and tastings at the estate

By appointment you can come to the estate: walk among the olive trees, taste our two oils and see where what is in the bottle comes from. Then, if you like it, we ship it to your home, abroad too.

## What you do

We start in the olive grove at Via Baronese 28, on the hills of Montemurlo: Frantoiano, Moraiolo and Leccino trees on lean, stony, south-facing ground. It is the best place to understand why an oil tastes the way it does.

Then you taste the two oils from the same harvest: Luce, from the green olives of early season, bitter and peppery; Raccolto, from the ripe olives of November, rounder. Tasting them one after the other teaches more than any technical sheet.

## When to come

All year round, by appointment. October and November are harvest time: you see the combs and nets, and the new oil has just come from the mill, 870 metres from the grove. It is the best time to visit, and the one when it pays to write a few days ahead.

## Getting here

Montemurlo is in the province of Prato, in Tuscany, between Prato and Pistoia: about ten minutes by car from the Prato Ovest motorway exit and around half an hour from Florence. Easy to fit in between one city and the next.

## After the visit

No need to fill your suitcase with bottles: order the oil on this site and it arrives at your home, in Europe or anywhere else, with the times and costs shown on the page for your country.
